Zimbabwe Coronavirus/ COVID-19 Update 20 December 2021

Here is the Coronavirus/ COVID-19 Situation Report or Update for Zimbabwe by the Ministry of Health and Child Care (MoHCC) on 20 December 2021:
- 2 283 New Cases (All local) and 18 Deaths were reported today. (7-day rolling average* for new cases goes down to 3295 from 3 665 (yesterday). 15 deaths reported by Harare province includes 12 deaths that occurred in the community between 7th Dec and 18th Dec and were not reported.
- Vaccination Update: 6 157 received the 1st dose today bringing cumulative for 1st dose to 4 060 046 while 5 172 received their 2nd dose bringing cumulative for 2nd dose to 3 074 698 as at 1600 hrs.
- As of 19 December 2021, @1500hrs there were 368 hospitalised cases: New Admissions (58), Asymptomatic 33, mild to moderate 294, severe 40 and 1 in Intensive Care Units.
- 4 830 tests done today (Positivity today was 47.3%) 2 415 new recoveries: National Recovery rate falls to 72% & Active cases go down 49 462.
- As of today, Zimbabwe has recorded 195 079 Cases 140 812 recoveries & 4 805 Deaths.
