Here is the Coronavirus/ COVID-19 Situation Report or Update for Zimbabwe by the Ministry of Health and Child Care (MoHCC) on 16 December 2021:
- 4 247 New Cases (All local) and 12 Deaths were reported today. (7-day rolling average* for new cases goes down to 4 355 from 4 490 (yesterday).
- Vaccination Update: 23 267 received the 1st dose today bringing cumulative for 1st dose to 4 023 013 while 21 807 received their 2nd dose bringing cumulative for 2nd dose to 3 035 192 as at 1600 hrs.
- As of 15 December 2021, 1500hrs there were 394 hospitalised cases: New Admissions (76), Asymptomatic 55, mild to moderate 294, severe 42 and 3 in Intensive Care Units.
- 12 390 tests done today (Positivity today was 34.4%) 1217 new recoveries: National Recovery rate falls to 71% & Active cases go up 49 396.
- As of today, Zimbabwe has recorded 186 304 Cases 132 137 recoveries & 4 771 Deaths.
