Reserve Money Update As Of 10 December 2021

Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe Reserve Money Update as of 10 December 2021:

RESERVE MONEY

1. Reserve money increased by ZW$498.36 million to ZW$28.75 billion during the week ending 10th December 2021, compared to the previous week’s position of ZW$28.25 billion.

2. The growth in reserve money largely reflected increases of ZW$721.35 million and ZW$271.08 million in required reserves and currency issued, respectively.

3. Partially offsetting this increase was a decline of ZW$494.07 million in banks’ liquidity (RTGS balances) at the Reserve Bank, owing to open market operations by the Central Bank.
