Caps United have crashed out of the Chibuku Super Cup after a 1-1 draw with rivals Dynamos in a Group A match played at Baobab Stadium in Mhondoro Ngezi on Sunday.
Makepekepe needed to beat DeMbare to stay in the competition and push their fight to the last round of group matches, but a Bill Antonio super strike early in the second half left the Green Machine with a mountain to climb.
An Emmanuel Jalai own goal moments later levelled matters but the Darlington Dodo coached side could not find the much-needed winner despite creating enough chances.
Caps United are on eight points and out of the race for a quarterfinals spot rendering their last match of the group academic.
The draw means group leaders Dynamos remain unbeaten as they increased their points tally to 24 points and will face Group C runners up Black Rhinos in the last eight.
In other matches played this Sunday, Herentals beat Harare City 3-0, Triangle were 3-1 winners over Whawha, and Bulawayo City and Highlanders drew 0-0.
