Four People Die In A Fatal Accident Along Gweru-Zvishavane Road

The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has reported that four people died in a fatal road traffic accident that happened along the Gweru – Zvishavane road on Sunday.

The police also said one more person was injured and has since been discharged from Shurugwi Hospital where he had been referred for treatment. Reads a police statement:

On 10/10/21 at around 1440 hrs, a fatal RTA occurred at the 22,5 km peg along Gweru- Zvishavane road where four people died on the spot while one person was injured.

A motorist, who was driving a Toyota Granvia vehicle with four people on board, lost control of the vehicle which veered off the road and overturned once before landing on its wheels.

Meanwhile, the bodies of the victims were taken to Gweru Provincial Mortuary for post mortem while the injured was referred to Shurugwi Hospital where he was treated and discharged.

The police added that the names of victims will be released after their next of kin have been advised.
