The Turkey Embassy in Harare has donated groceries worth thousands of dollars to Batsirai Zimcare Trust school in Dzivarasekwa, Harare which caters for children living with disabilities.

Handing over the groceries, Turkish embassy representative Mr Adam Yidi Wadi said the embassy was touched by the plight of people living with disabilities. He said:

We have noted that the most vulnerable are struggling to make ends meet during this Covid-19 lockdown. We are engaging people living with disabilities and those affected by Covid-19 so that they have a starting point in these hard times.

Our old people should always be looked after with adequate means hence we have seen the need to help them during these Covid-19 trying times.

Mr Wadi said they have been assisting the less privileged countrywide noting that their lives were negatively affected by the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic.
