ZUPCO Bus Conductor Killer Appears In Court

A 35-year-old security guard who allegedly shot dead a Zimbabwe United Passenger Company (ZUPCO) bus conductor in a suspected robbery attempt at Kadada Shops in Dzivaresekwa 4 on Monday night has been charged with murder.

The suspect, Campion Marowa, who is alleged to have been armed with a revolver, boarded a ZUPCO bus and waited for all passengers to disembark before shooting the female conductor in the head.

The suspect is alleged to have snatched her bag of fare money but was arrested only a few hours after the incident by CID Homicide detectives in Harare.

The conductor, Joyce Kuzhumbwa started work on 1 July last year for Lofombo Buses operating under the Zupco franchise.

The court heard that after the incident, Marowa fled the scene and went back to his workplace only to confess to his supervisor the following day.
