Chartered Accountants Academy Bars Unvaccinated Students From Study Centre

The Chartered Accountants Academy (CAA) has barred unvaccinated students and staff members from its study facility centre in a move meant to ensure safety and reduction of risk of exposure to the coronavirus.

In a special news bulletin released on 1 August, the CAA Client Services Department said the new measures are with effect from Wednesday 4 August 2021.

CAA said only those who would have received at least the first jab of the vaccine will be allowed to have access to the study facilities. The notice read:

Therefore, vaccination cards will be required as proof to access studying rooms. Those with exemptions will also be required to produce proof from authorized health practitioners proving that they should not be vaccinated. An online form to register for the study centre facility will be circulated.

Further to this, we continue to encourage all of you who have not yet been vaccinated to do so and continue to follow all the recommended Covid 19 regulations for us to create a safe learning environment.

CAA had temporarily closed the study facility centre and last week conducted a vaccination survey in which students were participants.

It said the decision to bar unvaccinated students from accessing studying rooms was based on the results of the survey.

CAA said lecture sessions shall continue to be conducted via the virtual platforms (Zoom and Microsoft teams) until further notice.
