ZANU PF Welcomes Ban Of NGOs By Harare PDC
The ruling ZANU PF party has applauded Harare Provincial Development Coordinator (PDC) Tafadzwa Muguti’s move to ban non-governmental organisations (NGOs) that failed to avail their work plans to his office last month.
Muguti released the names of 40 NGOs, private voluntary organizations, and trusts that had submitted their work plans to his office, saying the rest will only be allowed to operate after they comply with his directive.
Speaking at the party headquarters in Harare this Wednesday, ZANU PF Secretary for Administration, Obert Mpofu said the move will ensure that non-organisations stick to their mandate. Mpofu said:
We want to applaud the blitz on NGOs, private voluntary organizations, trusts and similar organisations undertaken by the Harare Metropolitan Council.
This exercise should be replicated in other provinces as the NGO sector has been awash with detractor narratives subtly aimed at demonising our government.

Mpofu also said the ruling party welcomes the 7.8 per cent economic growth projection by the Minister of Finance and Economic Development, Mthuli Ncube. He said:
We wish this economic growth trajectory to continue as it will harness our 2023 election campaign.
It is also worth noting that our country has outperformed our regional peers which put us in good stead as a formidable Former Liberation Movement party that wants to emancipate its people from poverty and economical empower them.
Mpofu also noted the deployment of troops from several Southern African Development Community (SADC) to help the country fight Islamist insurgents. Said Mpofu:
Given the increasing Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in the country and oil exploration by Invictus in the Zambezi valley more specifically in Muzarabani, we welcome the increased employment of soldiers by SADC to quell the situation in the Cabo Delgado province in Mozambique.
