Tokyo Olympics: Team Zimbabwe Coming Back Home
Team Zimbabwe is coming back home after failing to win any medal at the ongoing delayed Tokyo Olympics Games.
Despite the failure to secure any medal, the athletes had individuals achievements.
Seventeen-year-old female swimmer, Donata Katai, became the first black Zimbabwean swimmer to qualify for the prestigious sporting event.
She came first in the 100m backstroke race, in a personal best time of 1 minute 02.73 seconds in her maiden race at the tournament.
Unfortunately, her time was not enough to push her through to the semi-finals, as she was placed 34th in the overall heats, with only the top 16 progressing to the semi-finals.

The case was almost similar for the rest of the members of team Zimbabwe.
Sprinter Ngoni Makusha also missed out on the men’s 100m semi-finals at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games as he could not go past Round One in the event.
Makusha had won his heat in the Preliminary Round to progress to Round One.
Meanwhile, golfer, Scott Vincent, impressed at his first outing at the Olympics, after he finished tied in 16th place, at the Tokyo Games.
After a difficult opening round, when he carded a two-over-par, Vincent had rounds of 67, 66 and 67, to finish strongly, in the field that had 60 players.
Vincent made history by becoming the first local professional golfer, to take part in the Olympics, as he qualified in 51st place.
He is probably the best performer, from Team Zimbabwe, which had four other athletes.
