PRODUCER PRICE INDEX FOR AGRICULTURE (JUNE 2020 = 100) – JUNE 2021
The month on month rate of change in June 2021 was 3.83 per cent gaining 2.40 percentage points on the May 2021 rate of 1.43 per cent.
This means that prices, as measured by the all items #PPIA, increased by an average rate of 3.83 per cent from May 2021 to June 2021.
- The month-on-month rate of change is given by the percentage change in the index of the relevant month of the current year compared with the index of the previous month in the current year.
The products that have contributed most to the rise in the index in June 2021 were poultry, cereals, sheep and goats, vegetables and melons, roots and tubers and citrus fruits. This means high prices were observed in June 2021 on the above items as shown on page 4. The contribution of the rest of the products was insignificant to the rise or fall of the index.
The year on year Producer Price Index for Agriculture #PPIA rate of change stood at 43.62 percent in June 2021.
- The year-on-year inflation rate is given by the percentage change in the index of the relevant month of the current year compared with the index of the same month in the previous year.
This means that prices, as measured by the all items #PPIA, increased by an average rate of 43.62 per cent from June 2020 to June 2021.
