Employees Steal US$25 000 From Private School

Two Christ Ministries High School employees Monday appeared at the Harare Magistrates Court on allegations of stealing US$25 000 that was paid as debts to the school.

Lazarus Nhau Makoni (71), who doubled as a cashier and clerk and Eustace Makoni (55), who was employed as a bursar, were not asked to plead to the charges when they appeared before magistrate Mr Dennis Mangosi charged with fraud.

Mr Anesu Chirenje who appeared for the State alleged that the alleged theft happened between January and July this year.

Chirenje alleged that Makoni, on behalf of the school, collected US$25 000 from people who owed it.

He then allegedly handed over the money to the cashier.
