Veteran journalist Tawanda Gudhlanga has died, fellow journalist Elias Mambo made the announcement.
Mambo said Gudhlangah succumbed to COVID-19. He tweeted on Wednesday:
Woke up to the saddest news that a dear brother & colleague @tawandagud succumbed to Covid-19. Thoroughly enjoyed his shifts & programmes on @classic263 & on @ZBCNewsonline He was a good man, a gentleman. A big loss to the journalism fraternity.
Gudhlanga hosted various Business and Current Affairs programmes on ZBC-TV and Classic 263 radio including the Business Forum.
At the time of his death, he was working as a station manager at YaFM in Zvishavane.
The state broadcaster, ZBC, expressed sadness at Gudhlanga’s death. Said ZBC on social media:
We are very sad to learn of the passing of former @classic263 and @ZBCtv presenter Tawanda Gudhlanga “Life is Gooodhlanga”.. A great loss. May is soul rest in peace.
In 2017, Tawanda won the NAMA awards for Outstanding Journalist in Radio.
