No Valid Negative Covid-19 Certificate No Entry - HCC

Harare City Council is no longer permitting entrance at townhouse to staff members and visitors that have no valid negative COVID-19 certificate.

This comes after the local government authority recently saw its staff members testing positive to Covid-19

Even those with valid Covid-19 vaccination certificates are still required to produce a Covid-19 certificate showing proof of having been tested.

In a notice at the townhouse, the council said the testing certificate should be produced at the entrance. Reads the notice inscribed on the main entrance:

Please be advised that no person shall be allowed to enter townhouse without a valid negative Covid-19 certificate issued from Saturday, June 26, 2021.

Present your Covid-19 certificate upon arrival at the reception.

Security officers that manning the entrance say apart from the vaccination card, the Covid-19 test certificate was a must.

While vaccination is officially voluntary in Zimbabwe, members of the public feel compelled to get vaccinated since a valid negative COVID-19 certificate is acting as the passport to some goods and services.

About a million people have been vaccinated as the Southern African country is pushing to achieve head immunity.

President Emmerson Mnangagwa previously said Zimbabwe can only return to normalcy when enough people have been vaccinated.

In some jurisdictions including the United Kingdom and the United States of America, completely vaccinated people are now allowed to go outdoors even without masks.
