ZIMBABWE EVENING WEATHER REPORT AND FORECAST ISSUED AT 1600 HRS ON TUESDAY 13 JULY 2021 VALID UNTIL THURSDAY 15 JULY 2021.
PREAMBLE
This morning clear skies dominated much of the country. Slight ground frost occurred at Plumtree and Mukandi.
The decrease in the cases of ground frost was due to the northerly airflow which prevailed yesterday.
Meanwhile, a cool south-easterly is beginning to infiltrate through the southeastern borders of the country.

FORECAST FOR TOMORROW WEDNESDAY 14 JULY 2021
Provinces such as Matabeleland South, Masvingo, south of Midlands, Manicaland, Harare Metropolitan and Mashonaland East are forecast to be cold, mostly cloudy and windy in the morning becoming cloudy later in the afternoon with a chance of some showers.
Elsewhere, it should start off cold and mostly sunny with a light breeze becoming cool by afternoon.
IMPACTS
- Low temperatures, especially in the early hours of the morning have negative impacts on poultry.
- Cold conditions overnight negatively impact vulnerable persons (e.g. the very young, elderly or ill), with abrupt falls in temperatures increasing the risk of respiratory illnesses such as coughs and colds as well as asthma attacks. NB: sharp changes in daytime conditions are projected later this week.
ACTIONS TO TAKE
- Closely monitor the temperatures within fowl-runs and adjust accordingly.
- Keep warm by wearing appropriate winter attire, where possible stay indoors.
- Ensure that vulnerable members of society are kept warm, especially overnight.
- Avoid brazier or open fire to keep warm, in an unventilated room to prevent carbon monoxide poisoning.
- Always consult a local certified health practitioner for better advice on respiratory problems (e.g. dry coughs, colds and flu or asthma).
- COVID is still a potential threat, stay safe, mask up, get vaccinated.
WEATHER FORECAST WEDNESDAY 14 JULY 2021
In Masvingo, southern parts of Midlands, Matabeleland South and Manicaland it should be very cold and partly cloudy with a south-easterly airflow during the morning becoming cloudy by afternoon.
The rest of the country is supposed to be cold with clear skies turning into cool conditions by afternoon. Chances of frost still remain.
