MDC Alliance led by Nelson Chamisa has invited party members who would want to participate in by-elections. Meanwhile, by-elections were suspended following the outbreak of the coronavirus. Pindula News present the party’s invitation.

Following the opening of vacancies in constituencies and wards due to recalls and deaths in respective provinces and local government authorities. the MDC-T is hereby inviting applications and CVs from aspiring candidates of good standing and are registered voters. to contest in the pending By-elections
All provinces are directed to invite aspiring candidates to make applications and submit Curriculum Vitaes (CVs) by 15 July 2021 for all vacant National Assembly and Local Government seats in respective provinces_ On receipt of these CVs the provincial executives should convene immediately to consider the CVs make comments and recommendations for each of the applicants. Provinces are then required to forward the CVs to the Secretary-General at email@example.com, pmpariwa28@omail corn, and copy to the Secretary For Elections at firstname.lastname@example.org. All applications must reach party HO by 22 July 2021. Please note that candidate vetting is reserved strictly for the Elections Directorate. In addition, please note an administration fee accompanying the applications will be determined soon by the Election Directorate and communicated to Provinces.
The Election Directorate in liaison with the Election Department will advise respective provinces on the dates for Primary Elections once the dates have been finalized. Once again. please note that Provincial Executives do not have the mandate to disqualify any aspiring candidates and that no primary elections should be conducted for either the National Assembly or Local Government seats without authorization from the Party’s Election Directorate.
Please note all aspiring local government candidates must get the necessary police and respective local council clearances by the time primaries of the party are conducte.
