Coronavirus Cases Continue On Upward Trend: Zimbabwe COVID-19 Update 22 June 2021

Here is the coronavirus or COVID-19 situation report for Zimbabwe by the Ministry of Health and Child Care (MoHCC) as of 22 June 2021:

  • New cases: 519
  • Local Cases: 519
  • Returnees: 0
  • Deaths: 6
  • Lockdown Update: Kariba (65), Karoi (60), Chinhoyi & Kwekwe have been put under localised lockdowns.
  • Hotspot update: Mhondoro (13) Kazangare (16) (Mash West); Chiredzi (31) (Masvingo Province); Nkulumane (8), Emakhandeni (16) and Northern suburbs (9)(Bulawayo) have been classified as hotspots.
  • Tests: 6 523 Positivity (8%)
  • Vaccinations: 2 157 (first dose); 3 369 (second dose)
  • Total Cumulative Vaccinations: 705 158 (first dose); 440 220 (second dose)
  • Recoveries: 88
  • National Recovery Rate: 87%
  • Active Cases: 3 735
  • Total Cumulative Cases: 42 714
  • Total Recoveries: 37 288
  • Total Deaths: 1 691
