The Nation is informed that Cabinet has approved that the reopening of schools and other learning institutions be delayed by 14 days. Govt will be monitoring the situation and a review will be made after 2 weeks.
Stakeholders in the education sector were urging the government to have school reopening delayed to at least August saying measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19 were not in place yet.
This comes as some teachers succumbed to COVID-19 while dozens of other staff and learners in various learning institutions contracted the coronavirus when schools reopened this year.
