Renowned Zimdancehall chanter, Seh Calaz, born Tawanda Mumanyi, has advised both upcoming and established musicians not to be used by music promoters and producers for nothing but should patiently work until they get deals that reward them financially.
Seh Calaz’s remarks come after an artiste contracted to Nashtv recently posted the contract on social media which exposed unimaginable exploitation of musicians.
He likened mortgaging one’s future for short-term exposure to Lobengula, a Ndebele King, wrongly accused of selling the country to British fortune hunters in the 19th century for a few hundred pounds. Seh Calaz posted on Facebook:
Team rangu ma upcoming nema established artist tese I knw zvinhu zvakapressa asi Dai mavhura maziso and think zvirikumberi, musavhunduke zvinhu, musaitiswe ndapota.
Usafunge kuti wasara ukasa tsomana nevarikunzi vakurira, stop selling the future of your kids and family for the likes or kuti uonekwe uripama platform awo.

Gadzirisai ramangwana, we’re passengers on this earth, isu tiripano to pave the way for our families and the next generation. Siyanai ne kuita Hu Lobengula.
ZANU Shona tribalists propaganda has left an indelible mark on the Shona youth. They dont even know it is their ancestors who sold the country, when they helped Cecil Rhodes and his people depose King King Lobhengula in 1983.
Lobengula is superior to you. The most resilient king against colonialism at that time but so was his father. The same can not be said of your ancestor.
kuyanya okuyinto kwesifebe sembare
I will take that as an attack to ndebele people ndebele history ,on behalf ndebele people I demand an apology from this young man .
you are the one who needs to read and understand history , from the poineer collumn and rud concession
if you dont make a public apology u will pay the price . u have insulted a lot of people retract your statement.
At least the Shona ancestor you are talking about ‘sold’ what belonged to him or his own ancestors unlike Lobengula who was put on a merry-go-round and pointed the whole country which did not belong either to him or his ancestors. Remember Lobe and his folks ran away from Tshaka which shows that they were cowards. Why did you people ever cross the Limpopo River, mukutsvagei kunoku. One day you will go back where you came from, kwanaka wani Tshaka died a long time ago.
