FULL TEXT: Microsoft Founder Bill And Melinda Gates Divorce
Multi-billionaire and Microsoft founder Bill Gates has announced their divorce that ends their 27-year-old marriage with his 58-year-old wife Melinda.
Although the duo’s joint statement did not state any reason for the divorce, Melinda in 2019 said their marriage has been “incredibly hard”, saying that Bill, 65, regularly works 16-hours per day and can find it hard to make time for the family.
Bill recently resigned from Microsoft Board and from Warren Buffet’s massive holding company Berkshire Hathaway.
The duo had 3 children together, Jennifer, 25, Rory, 21, and Phoebe, 18.
The tweet, however, indicated that despite the divorce, the duo will continue their philanthropic work together as Bill and Melinda Gates foundation. The pair said in a joint statement posted on Twitter on Monday:
