Dynamos legend, Stanley “Samora “ Chirambadare, Thursday appeared in court in Harare charged with sodomising a minor at his football academy.
Chirambadare who was popularly known for his overlapping runs during his playing days runs Revival Junior Football Academy in Mufakose, Harare, which nurtures junior football talent.
Reports suggest that the former Dynamos left-back was picked by Marimba police on Wednesday and is expected to appear before the court at Rotten Row.
It is further reported that the alleged sodomy came to light when a 13-year-old boy who was abused by Chirambadare was caught sodomising other kids at the academy. A police source said:
It is true, our officers have arrested a male adult named Stanley Chirambadare, who stands accused of sodomising a 13-year-old child, who was a member of his football academy. The case came to light after the boy was caught sodomising other kids from the same neighbourhood and upon interrogation, he revealed that he was taught by Chirambadare, who used to do the same act on him.
The accused would allegedly sodomise the boy when he went to the house alone.
The police also said Chirambadare would call the youngsters to his house for some house chores such as cleaning and he would then give them goodies including sweets.
Another report suggests the matter came to light when the abused kid’s private parts began to swell.
Chirambadare who was at some point an assistant coach at Dynamos is allegedly unmarried and is said to be staying alone in Mufakose, Harare.
Chirambadare is said to have started playing for DeMbare juniors in 1981 but was only able to take his football seriously when he had finished his advanced level studies in 1984.
