MSD Weather Report And Forecast – 23 To 25 April 2021

ZIMBABWE EVENING WEATHER REPORT AND FORECAST ISSUED AT 1600 HRS ON FRIDAY 23 APRIL 2021 VALID UNTIL SUNDAY 25 APRIL 2021.

Mostly clear skies, cold conditions and calm winds prevailed across the country this morning, with slight ground frost in places. (This is typical of the transition period between summer and winter, with absolute minimum temperatures on record being below 5°C for most areas in the Highveld). However, by afternoon it was warm amid scattered clouds over Matabeleland North, northern areas of the Midlands, Manicaland, Bulawayo and Harare Metropolitan, as well as all Mashonaland Provinces. Sunny conditions prevailed over Matabeleland South Province, southern area of the Midlands Province and Masvingo Province, as the atmosphere slowly dries out from the south.

FORECAST FOR TOMORROW, SATURDAY 24 APRIL 2021 

Scattered clouds are expected over Harare Metropolitan, all Mashonaland Provinces, northern areas of Midlands and Matabeleland North. The rest of the country should be sunny and warm. It will be cool in the morning with localized cold conditions with slight ground frost in frost-prone areas (Matopos, Gweru, Chivhu, Nyanga and Henderson).
• During the transition period between the main-rainfall season and winter (April into May). atmospheric conditions (temperature. cloudiness. wind strength etc.) may vary drastically.

• These cooler weather conditions may affect the health of vulnerable members of society such as young children, elderly and ill persons.

• Temperature fluctuation negatively impact animals especially poultry.

• The main-rainfall season has now passed and winter is approaching, temperature may fluctuate significantly, thus horticultural crops such as tomatoes need to be monitored and frost preventions mechanism put in place for any forecast eventualities.
