ZANU PF Congratulates CPC On The Occasion Of Its 8th Congress
The ruling ZANU PF party has sent a congratulatory message to the Communist Party of Cuba (CPC) on the occasion of the party’s 8th Congress.
The CPC is the ruling political party in the Republic of Cuba formed in 1965 to be the “leading force of society and of the state”.
In a statement, this Monday on behalf of President and First Secretary of ZANU PF, the party’s national chairperson and Defence and War Veterans Affairs Minister Oppah Muchinguri-Kashiri said:
On behalf of the Party, ZANU PF and His Excellency the President and First Secretary of the Party Cde ED Mnangagwa, I congratulate the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) and outgoing First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) Cde Raul Castro and the State President Cde Miguel Diaz-Canel on the occasion of the Party’s 8h Historic Congress.
ZANU PF stands in active solidarity with the PCC and the entire Revolutionary People of the Republic of Cuba for their steadfastness and commitment to the revolutionary principles which has made it possible to achieve this milestone despite sustained threats and hostility from unrepentant imperialist forces which continue to keep illegal sanctions on the Peoples of Cuba in a desperate and futile attempt to undermine your sovereignty and right to self-determination.

As the Congress rounds off, we are thrilled and elated by Cde Raul Castro’s declaration that “Cuba will not give up on the principles of the Revolution and Socialism.” Indeed, under the PCC, the Unity and Continuity of the Cuban Revolution is guaranteed.
ZANU PF remains glued to the cardinal principles of respect of states’ sovereignty and noninterference in the internal affairs of other states and hereby affirms the Cuban People’s sovereign right to govern themselves in their best interest.
Indeed, ZANU PF and Zimbabwe in particular share historical revolutionary ties with the CPC and the Cuban Republic since the successful prosecution of the Cuban Revolution and the subsequent support and solidarity that Cuba rendered to the People of Zimbabwe in our Liberation Struggle that ushered in our independence.
It is therefore phenomenal that our Nation’s celebration of the 41st Anniversary of that Independence coincides with the 8th Congress of the PCC.
