Masvingo Boutique Robbed Of Suits Worth US$22 000

Armed robbers stormed an upmarket boutique in Masvingo on Monday night and got away with 26 men, 24 ladies suits (all labels) and other clothes valued at more than US$22 000.

The four-member gang overwhelmed guards at Men in Black and Fabulous Boutique at Old Aroma Complex at around 11 PM.

They proceeded to break doors and windows, entered the shop and went away with labels that include Alberto, Marcorenzi and Marco-renci.

Acting Masvingo Provincial Police spokesperson, Sergeant Lloyd Masundire confirmed the incident saying the case was under investigation.

Masvingo Mirror cited a source as saying police only came after 2 AM after realising that they were going to deal with armed robbers.

The gang reportedly dropped some bullets at the scene and a few clothes outside the shop.

Auxilia Ruvangu, a saleslady at the boutique told the publication that the robbers also stole 36 shirts, 4 blazers, 18 neckties, 3 rails of skirts, all blouses and various dresses. Said Ruvangu:

The robbers went away with almost everything in the boutique except t-shirts and shoes since we don’t display the full pair. The structure they broke needs RTGS$ 4 400 to maintain.

This is not the first time the boutique has been ransacked by robbers as it was also robbed in 2018.
