PREAMBLE
Dry air affecting the country resulted in cool conditions this morning in most areas. However, an isolated thunderstorm occurred at Lupanc yesterday. Meanwhile, pressure is rising along the southeast coast of South Africa.
FORECAST FOR TOMORROW SUNDAY 04 APRIL 2021
Matabeleland South, southern areas of Midlands, Masvingo and Manicaland is expected to be cloudy, cool and windy with patchy morning drizzle, becoming less cloudy and warm by afternoon. The remainder of the country is expected to be sunny and warm with a freshening breeze though cool in the morning
IMPACTS
- These cool morning and evening conditions may affect vulnerable member of society e.g. the young. the aged and ill.
- Temperature fluctuation. between night and day, negatively impact animals especially poultry. Constantly monitor these and ensure heating is regulated accordingly.
ACTIONS TO TAKE
- Keep warm both evening and early morning,
- Keep hydrated especially during the daytime,
- Wear a sunhat or carry an umbrella when performing on farm activities such as harvesting or land preparations for winter cropping, as well as any outdoor activities.
- Where possible apply sunscreen to protect yourself from the sun’s rays.
- Ensure young children, the elderly and ill are kept warm especially towards evening.
- While April may be an ideal month for weddings and other outdoor activities, please note that pockets of moisture which may result in light afternoon thundershowers need to be considered during planning. Where possible consult with the Meteorological Services Department.

It should be mostly sunny and warm with a freshening wind in most areas though cool in the morning. However, scattered clouds are expected in the morning in Matabeleland South, south of Midlands, Masvingo Province and Manicaland.
