Kwekwe-based Cop Kills Murder Suspect

A police officer based at Amaven Camp in Kwekwe fatally shot a murder suspect at his homestead on Monday, reports Bulawayo24.com.

The publication reported sources close to investigations saying that constable Morris Bako (36) shot and killed Honest Mbulavi (24) on the collar bone and he died on the spot.

Bako had reportedly gone to pick up the now deceased Mbulavi who had allegedly murdered his colleague Godfrey Manyanga in a beer dispute.

He was part of a team of police officers who had made a follow-up at the murder suspect (Mbulavi)’s homestead.

On arrival, the officers knocked on the now deceased’s door, identified themselves as police officers and advised him of his crime. The source is quoted as saying:

Bako was subsequently arrested under Cr 49/03/21 at Amaveni police station.
