4 Unidentified People Attack Heal Zimbabwe For "Unpatriotic Opposition To The Government"

According to Heal Zimbabwe Trust Executive Director Rashid Mayiya, 4 unidentified people stormed their offices and threatened the people prest at Heal Zimbabwe with unspecified action for their supposed “unpatriotic opposition to the government”. Mahiya shared the following thread detailing what transpired at their offices today and what might have ignited it:

Attack Heal Zimbabwe Offices Today at 12:47 Heal Zimbabwe was besieged by four unidentified people (2 women and 2 men) who threatened concerted unrelenting brutal and unspecified action against the organisation for what they termed unpatriotic opposition to the government.

Today’s attack came after one Taurai Kundishaya visited Heal Zimbabwe Offices the previous day (22-03-21), took pictures and urged Zimbabwe Zimbabweans to converge and protests at the organisation’s gates.

Kundishaya alleged that Heal Zimbabwe was a “home of modern-day slavery, sabotage training, anti-gvt protests planning centre & other illegal activities.” #freeTaku #FreeMako #FreeJoana #freececilia

.Heal Zimbabwe sees this as an orchestrated attack meant to frustrate the organisation’s peacebuilding and conflict transformation work. Attacks on Civil Society Organisations begin with this kind of allegations leading to raids and arbitrary arrests and prosecutions.
