Joshua Nkomo's Son Nominated To Become New ZAPU President
The son of the late nationalists and one of ZImbabwe’s greatest statesmen Joshua Nkomo has reportedly been nominated to become ZAPU’s president NewsDay reports.
According to a source privy to the developments, Sibangilizwe Nkomo’s name was forwarded from the party’s Kezi branch in Matabeleland South:
His name has been submitted by his district. They want him to lead the party and if the nomination is accepted, he will be one of the contestants for the presidency.
FeedbackAccording to the publication, ZIPRA Veterans Trust spokesperson Baster Magwizi could be the party’s vice president but other party members are said to prefer the party’s spokesperson Iphithule Maphosa to become the party’s Vice President.
The opposition party will hold their elective congress on 30 April 2021.
