2 Gunmen Kill 73 Year Old Granny In Front Of Her Orphaned Grandchildren
2 men reportedly shot and killed a 73-year-old grandmother in front of her orphaned grandchildren in Ndudzo Village, Chief Bunina in Lower Gweru, The Herald reports.
According to the Herald, one of the 2 gunmen fired 2 bullets and instantly killed Mrs Eve Siwela before running away and leaving her grandchildren screaming for help.
Here are the facts that have been presented by the publication on the issue so far:
- The 2 unknown men approached the grandmother at her home in her hut and asked the whereabouts of one Sakhile
- Granny Siwela said she doesn’t know anyone by that name
- One of the suspects open fired at the granny and hit her twice, once on the right cheek and once on the left collarbone
- They then fled leaving the grandchildren screening for help
ZRP is yet to establish the motive for the killing. The gunmen are still on the run, and ZRP’s enquiries on the case led them to discover there is only one Sakhile in the whole area and she is a woman yet the gunmen insinuated the Sakhile they were looking for was a man.
