15% Of The Country's Active COVID-19 Cases Hospitalized - Report

A total of 137 COVID-19 cases are currently hospitalized right now, This was revealed by the Ministry of Health and Child Care in an update that stated that of the hospitalized COVID-19 cases, 37 of the cases are severe and 13 people are in Intensive Care Units countrywide.

Stated the ministry in the update:

As of 8 March 2021, @1500hrs, there were 137 hospitalised cases, asymptomatic 70, mild to moderate 30, severe 24, and 13 in intesnive care units.

The Ministry also stated that 243 people were vaccinated yesterday bringing the total number of vaccinations to 35 761. The country’s 2 COVID-19 deaths were recorded in Mashonaland Central and Harare had the highest number of new cases recording 10 of the country’s 32 new cases.

The country is expected to take delivery of 600 000 doses of Sinopharm a COVID-19 vaccination developed in China this month and 984 000 doses of AstraZeneca through the COVAX scheme by May 2021.
