ZRP Arrests 2 People For Selling A Stand Using Forged Documents

Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has revealed that they have arrested 2 people for selling a residential stand to an unsuspecting home seeker using forged documents.

Said ZRP in a series of tweet explaining the circumstances surrounding the duo’s arrest:

ZRP confirms the arrest of Shyleen Sirani (31) and Joseph Muketiwa (41) by Police Anti- Corruption Unit for Fraud involving a sale of residential stand using forged documents in Tynwald, Harare.

The two suspects and the other one who is still at large hatched a plan to defraud the victim (27) of cash amounting to USD 13000 and in pursuance of their plan made counterfeit deed of transfer for a certain homestead in Tynwald and a fake plastic identity card.

ZRP even urged people who were dipped the same way to come forward so that they investigate the perpetrators:

The ZRP appeals to other home seekers who were duped in the same manner (being sold stands forged documents)  to come forward and lodge their complaints at any nearest police station. Investigations are in progress. #notocrime.

This comes a month after the government announced that they will be tough on Land barons going forward in a bid to curb lawlessness and to preserve the country’s wetlands which were being parcelled to unsuspecting home seekers by land barons.
