President Emmerson Mnangagwa has sworn in Ambassador Fredrick Shava as the new Foreign Affairs and International Trade Minister at the State House this morning.

He previously worked as Zimbabwean ambassador to China, a consultant on Zimbabwe’s Parliamentary reform, Minister of State for Political Affairs in 1987, and Minister of Labour, Manpower Planning and Development from 1981 to 1986.
He is currently the Ambassador and Permanent Representative of the Republic of Zimbabwe to the United Nations in New York and was elected as President of the United Nations Economic and Social Council on 28 July 2016.
