Zimbabwe Records COVID Cases From Returnees For The 1st Time Since January

Four returnees from Botswana tested positive for coronavirus on Thursday. This is the first time the Southern African country has recorded coronavirus cases from returnees since January.

Most of Zimbabwe’s cases since the resurgence of the pandemic have been local cases prompting authorities to employ measures such as a strict national lockdown in a bid to stop the spread of the deadly virus.

The closure of the South African border meant that very few people could go out and back therefore the importation of the virus was on a low note.

Meanwhile, the government recently announced that Zimbabweans who intend to come back home were free to do so, a move that can see the number of returnee cases going up, again.

The graph of local cases was of late going down giving hope that the nation was finally weathering the coronavirus storm.
