Logarusic Delays Naming AFCON Qualifiers Provisional Squad As He Awaits Feedback On England Based Players

Warriors Gaffer Zdravko Logarusic has delayed naming the provisional squad expected to face Botswana and Zambia next month in the AFCON qualifiers matches as he awaits feedback from England on the English-based players availability for the matches, Soccer24 reports.

Logarusic was supposed to name the provisional squad yesterday but according to the warriors’ manager Wellington Mpandare he has to wait a bit longer to name the provisional squad:

The coach will have to wait a little bit because we are yet to get responses from some clubs. It’s either we announce it (the squad) without the guys based in England. As it stands, it is uncertain the guys will make, but we’re still waiting for other players to get clearances.

Marvelous Nakamba’s team Aston Villa a few weeks ago denied the club’s goalkeeper Martinez permission to go a play for his native national team due to restrictions imposed by England on citizens due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
