Jamaican musician, I Octane has sensationally claimed that Winky D’s career owes much to support by Jamaican artists including himself since he was not known outside Zimbabwe.
The Jamaican artist further criticised Winky D for “killing local music” as he is not giving upcoming artists a chance to be heard.
I Octane said the Musarova Bigman hitmaker should have gone International so he can open up platforms for the rest of Zimbabwean artists.
He said Winky D has to build a career outside Zimbabwe saying the artiste always gives the country a bad reputation. He said:
If I wasn’t talking about Winky D here, no one outside Zimbabwe would know him.

If the art is heavily exposed to jamaican dancehall it will die. Zim dancehall is its own genre now divorced from ana jamaican dancehall. We dont need it
zimdancehall needs to be exposed to jamaica to get international sponsorship and recognition hello, that is why all artists turninf to drugs now coz zimdancehall does not make enough to feed all the artists and everyone on board, people must not be too selfish, think about the ghetto yutes as well. We create legacies to feed everyone not to play god or supreme. Period
