Harare Records Zero COVID-19 Deaths On 2 Different Days For The First Time In Weeks

Harare which has recorded the highest number of COVID-19 cases and COVID-19 deaths since the onset of the virus and has been referred to by some as the epicenter of the virus, on 16 February and yesterday recorded zero COVID-19 deaths for the first time in weeks. This was contained in an update published by the Ministry of Health that also stated that 2 people succumbed to the virus yesterday.

The update also stated that 155 people are hospitalised due to the infamous virus:

As of 19 February @1500 hrs, there were 155 hospitalised cases: Assymptomatic 73, mild to moderate 47, severe 30, 5 in Intensive care units.

The update also noted that the 2 deaths recorded yesterday were recorded in Bulawayo and Mashonaland Central. Bulawayo also recorded the highest number of COVID-19 new cases yesterday recording 54 of the 58 new cases, while Midlands recorded the highest number of recoveries recording 37 of yesterday’s 124 recoveries.

Meanwhile, President Mnangagwa has urged people to be vaccinated when the time to be vaccinated comes.
