VP Chiwenga Vaccinated Against Coronavirus

Vice President and Minister of Health and Child Care Constantino Chiwenga has volunteered to become the first Zimbabwean to be vaccinated against the coronavirus using the Chinese developed Sinopharm vaccine.

Chiwenga received the Sinopharm jab on Thursday at a ceremony at the Wilkins Infectious Diseases Hospital in Harare that is set to signal the commencement of the country’s vaccination programme.

The Vice President volunteered to become the first recipient of the vaccine to assure health care workers who are set to benefit from the first phase of the vaccination programme.

Zimbabwe received a donation of 200 000 shots of the Sinopharm vaccine from The People’s Republic of China on Monday and is set to start the inoculation of its citizens against the viral disease.

  1. That`s a great example of trust shown there by the Vice President to volunteer to be the first to receive the covid-19 vaccine dose. Keep it up. At least it allays fears which were thrown all over about the vaccine.
