Nyikayaramba's Widow Inconsolable - Report

Douglas Nyikayaramba’s widow is reportedly in pain and asking God why her husband who succumbed to COVID-19 last week had to die, New Zimbabwe reports.

According to the publication, Elina wept uncontrollably and was inconsolable yesterday at the national hero’s acre where her husband was buried and said she did everything humanly possible for her husband not to die:

Oh God! Oh God! Oh God! Why??? I am a prayerful, faithful servant. I did pray for him to get well. I did my best for him to be healed.

A relative that was close to her reportedly failed to console her as she wept when her husband’s coffin was being lowered into the grave.

While President Mnangagwa who was presiding over the burial of Nyikayaramba took the time to settle a score with those he said are seeking to reverse the gains of the liberation struggle:

I challenge us all to thrive to preserve, defend and protect the legacy that the late Cde Nyikayaramba ‘Blessing Muhondo’ and other heroes bequeathed to us. Citizens must resist to be used as willing tools by those advancing myopic, narrow and alien agendas burnt to slow down and reverse our gains of Independence. We are a united, caring and peace loving people
