Housing and social amenities Minister Daniel Garwe has urged the media to work together with the government to expose what he called the shenanigans of land barons ZBC News reports.
Garwe was officiating a housing project in Seke’s Nyatsime Ward 9 yesterday (Friday) when he said:
It is government’s vision to provide housing for all by 2030; thereby it is now time to flush out all land barons and we need also to work together with the media in exposing their shenanigans
Garwe said the government in partnership with private players were now in the process of relocating residents who were affected by the dealings of the land barons.
Mashonaland East Zanu Pf political commissar Cde Lincoln Matare praised the government and said the initiative was a noble idea:
We thank government for such a noble idea and its high we move on as the community together with government. There is need for construction for Nyatsime Bridge and relocating people from wetlands
Last week, VP Chiwenga also said land barons will be made to compensate home seekers they duped.

Hope the words will turn into action. We are stuck with a land baron called Felix Munyaradzi in Sandton Park. Our roads are pathetic and no development for years yet nothing is being done to him. We have a case that is stuck at the high court against him which shows he is enjoying protection from somewhere
