People Residing On Crowborough Farm Should Vacate The Premises By 2 April - CoH

The City of Harare (CoH) has warned people who are currently residing on a City of Harare paddock in Crowborough to vacate the premises by the 2nd of April 2021, ZTN reports.

Some of the people staying in the paddocks reportedly started staying there in 2015 after buying the stands not knowing that the area was reserved for something else by the city fathers.

The council through its spokesperson said they are armed with 20 eviction orders and they will move to evict the residents if they don’t vacate the premises and remove their structures on their own.

CoH’s Michael Chideme said the farm in Crowborough where people are staying is used for wastewater management.

Residents that spoke to the publication said they paid certain politicians for their papers to be processed but the stands are yet to be regularised to this day. Some residents are imploring their cooperative to negotiate with the government so that they are not evicted.

Chideme urged residents to follow proper channels when it comes to securing stands in the Sunshine City. Last week Vice President Constantino Chiwenga said land barons will face their day in court and they should compensate home seekers they duped.
