Ndiraya Finally Returns Home After Covid Isolation In Cameroon

Warriors assistant coach Tonderai Ndiraya has returned home from Cameroon where he had travelled for the 2021 African Nations Championship (CHAN) finals.

Ndiraya remained in Yaounde, the central African country’s capital, alongside a few players after he and the squad members had tested positive for coronavirus last month.

The Dynamos and Young Warriors coach landed in Harare on Saturday afternoon with Qadr Amini and Farai Matare who had also tested positive for COVID-19.

Dynamos Marketing and Communications Manager Yvonne Tendai Mangunda confirmed the trio’s return to Zimbabwe today. She said via Twitter:

Warriors assistant coach Tonderai Ndiraya is finally back in the country. Ndiraya had stayed behind in Cameroon, together with other players who had also tested positive for COVID-19 at the CHAN tournament. He arrived this afternoon with Qadr Amini and Farau Matare.

Meanwhile, there are other two squad members will have to wait a little bit longer in the Cameroonian capital after they returned positive tests on Wednesday.

The Warriors were eliminated from the CHAN tournament after losing all their three Group A matches to Cameroon (1-0), Burkina Faso (3-1) and Mali (1-0) and the bulk of the squad returned home on 27 January.
