80 Hospitalised COVID-19 Cases Severe - Govt

The Ministry of Health and Child Care has said 15 COVID-19 hospitalised cases are in ICU units and 65 other hospitalised cases are severe.

This was contained in an update that also noted that a total of 178 people are hospitalised due to the infamous virus:

As of 2 February 2021 at 1500 hrs there were 178 hospitalised cases: 98 mild to moderate, 65 severe and 15 in Intensive Care Units.

Harare was said to have the highest number of new cases after it recorded 51 new cases. Mashonaland East and Harare also recorded the highest number of recoveries while Mashonaland West and Harare recorded the highest number of deaths.

Meanwhile, the Finance Minister has said private citizens will have to pay for the vaccines a move which might not sit well with the masses.
