ZACC Arrests Snr Asst Commissioner Erasmus Makodza

The Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (Zacc) has arrested Senior Assistant Commissioner Erasmus Makodza on unspecified corruption allegations.

Erasmus Makodza who one of the most decorated police commanders, was the commander in charge of the 2018 general elections.

The anti-graft body’s spokesperson, John Makamure, confirmed the arrest to The NewsHawks.
Makodza was recently transferred from Harare Province to Matabeleland North Province as Officer Commanding, having moved from Bulawayo to Harare, and Mashonaland East before going back to Harare, and then recently Matabeleland North.
Zacc has so far arrested a handful of prominent politicians in the country which include the former Tourism Minister Prisca Mupfumira.
Meanwhile, some observers are still not convinced that the arrests are genuine as there are few convictions.
