President Mnangagwa's Sister Succumbs To COVID-19

President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s sister reportedly died of COVID-19 recently, a United Arab Emirates publication, Khaleej Times has reported.

In a message of condolence to President Mnangagwa, the UAE President, His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, expressed sympathy over the death of the President’s sister and several Zimbabwean ministers. The Khaleej Times report reads:

The UAE President, His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, sent a cable of condolences to Emmerson Mnangagwa, President of Zimbabwe, expressing sympathy over the death of his sister, a number of his ministers and the Ambassador of Zimbabwe to the UAE, due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, have sent similar cables to the President of Zimbabwe.

Zimbabwe recently lost several high-ranking government officials to the respiratory illness, among them, Foreign Affairs minister Sibusiso Moyo, Transport minister Joel Biggie Matiza, Manicaland Provincial minister Ellen Gwaradzimba and the country’s ambassador to UAE Jetro Ndombondayi Ndlovu who died yesterday.
