The Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure Development temporarily closed Mbembesi Bridge to motorists until 10 am Saturday due to a serious undercut on its bed. The ministry had closed the lane of the damaged side.
The Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Information Publicity and Broadcasting Services, Nick Mangwana says a contractor has been engaged and will be on the site tonight.
The completion of the rehabilitation procedure is expected in one week.
Mbembesi River bridge is along the Beitbridge highway in Matebeleland South.
