34 Curfew Violators In Masvingo Fined $20 000 Each

ZRP has revealed that curfew violators at a certain mine in Masvingo were fined $20 000 each for violating COVID-19 regulations.

ZRP revealed this in a warning message to curfew violators and said:

57 people were arrested at Vondedzo Mine, Masvingo for violating curfew hours. 9 vehicles and an assortment of mining equipment were recovered at the time of arrest.

34 of the accused persons have since been sentenced to $20 000-00 fines each or three months imprisonment with no option of time to pay.

This comes amid reports that ZRP arrested 8 minors in Bulawayo for violating COVID-19 regulations. Last week ZRP announced they will intensify their efforts to ensure people adhere to COVID-19 restrictions. On 24 January over 3000 people were arrested for violating lockdown restrictions.
