2 More Suspects Nabbed In The 2.5 Million Cash Heist Case

ZRP has apprehended 2 suspects in connection with the Gwebi River,  Harare Chinhoyi Highway $2.5 million cash heist which is the country’s biggest cash heist so far, The Herald reports.

According to the publication, the 2 suspects, cousins Job and Tichaona Njowa were arrested following a tip-off after the latter raised alarm over his spending patterns at a business center in Ngezi.

The publication states that Job Njowa who is the son of Shadreck Njowa believed to be the heist’s mastermind was seen by his cousin Tichaona burying part of the cash from the heist near a hut in Mudakwenda Village, Mhondoro.

Tichaona then decided to steal the money and he went on a spending spree at Turf in Ngezi, however, his spending patterns raised Turf residents’ suspicions, which led to his arrest.

Tichaona who was found in possession of $20 500 after buying 2 cars revealed that he got the money from the place Job had buried it. Job who was also arrested is denying the allegations and will appear in court tomorrow.
