Unconfirmed reports suggest that the Minister of Health and Child Care, Vice President Constantino Chiwenga has been airlifted to China amid reports that he tested positive for COVID-19.
A group called the Children of Zimbabwe War Veterans Association Platform (COZWVA) posted on Twitter Saturday claiming that the health of the former army boss had deteriorated. COZWVA said:
Zimbabwe Vice President Rtd Gen Chiwenga has been airlifted to China this evening as his condition deteriorated.
COZWVA makes the claims amid reports that Chiwenga, together with VP Kembo Mohadi, tested positive for the coronavirus, claims which the government has dismissed as wishful thinking.
Constantino Chiwenga has been in and out of the hospital since 2018 and he spent the good part of 2019 in China where he was being treated for suspected poisoning.
He has been into South African, Indian and Chinese medical institutions triggering massive criticism from some members of the public who say political elites should also be treated locally in “health institutions they neglected.”

Didn’t he personally ban the seeking of medical care outside the country?
We wish him a fast recovery and early return for his critical duties. God bless.
He should be treated in Zimbabwe ,wasting resources, they have to fix their own hospitals.vasina mari vofa zve
