High Court Reserves Judgement On Allan Moyo's Bail Appeal

High Court judge Justice David Foroma on Friday reserved judgement on University of Zimbabwe (UZ) student, Allan Moyo’s bail appeal.

Moyo (23) is being represented by Obey Shava from the Zimbabwe Lawyers for Human Rights (ZLHR).

The student activist has been in prison for more than 40 days after he was arrested in December 2020. ZLHR said:

… Allan has been in prison for more than 40 days after he was arrested in December 2020.

We have also filed an application at High Court seeking to compel ZPCS to improve conditions at Harare Remand Prison, where Allan is currently detained.

We are also seeking that ZPCS be ordered to improve conditions at all of Zim’s prisons including providing PPE to prison officers.

Allan Moyo remains incarcerated at Harare Remand Prison after Justice Foroma reserved judgment on his bail appeal.

Moyo was arrested on 7 December 2020 and charged with inciting people to commit public violence.

His arrest came after he allegedly called for a revolt against President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s government.
