SB Moyo Declared National Hero

The late Foreign Affairs and International Trade Minister, Retired Lieutenant General Sibusiso Busi Moyo has been declared a national.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Trade made the announcement in a post on Twitter this evening. It said:

The late Hon. @MinisterSBMoyo has been conferred with National Heroe Status for his great service which he rendered to the nation through his illustrious career.

Moyo succumbed to COVID-19 at a private hospital in Harare on Wednesday morning aged 61.

He became the third minister to die from the respiratory illness since July last year, the other being Lands and Agriculture Minister Perrance Shiri, and Ellen Gwaradzimba, who was the Minister of Provincial Affairs for Manicaland.

Meanwhile, President Emmerson Mnangagwa officiated at the double burial of Gwaradzimba and ZANU PF Central Committee member Morton Malianga at the National Heroes Acre in Harare this Thursday.

Gwaradzimba succumbed to COVID-19 last Friday while Malianga died after a long illness.
